• Invention capture. The drafting process begins with a telephone conference with the inventor(s), attended by the drafter, a drafting team leader, and our Chief Patent Counsel (as needed). This session continues until a statement of invention is agreed on by all concerned.
• Invention coverage. The first drafting step is a claim set, based on the invention capture discussion. This document is modified as required to ensure a complete agreement on the scope of the invention.
• Interactive drafting. The application drafting is an iterative, cooperative venture among the drafter, the drafting team leader, and the Chief Patent Counsel. The draft / critique / redraft cycle continues until the team is satisfied that the document is in an acceptable condition to share with the client.
• Client review. Discussing the draft with the inventor and client proceeds smoothly
• Patent Quality Gateway. Ultimately, there is no substitute for experience, and our experienced Chief Patent Counsel approves every application or Office Action response before it is sent to the client, and again before it is filed.
